What I Do

Integral Eye Movement Therapy

Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) is a rapid change work process that looks at how we learned to feel and react in a certain way, and then change how we relate to the problem by reprocessing key moments and memories with calibrated eye movements. Reductions in anxiety and shyness can be experienced in as little as one session. For a full overview and to learn more about IEMT, you can visit the website here.

Coaching and Training

We spend time exploring how your problem effects you, where it may have come from and how you think and feel about it now. You learn common models of understanding anxiety and proven tools and techniques to manage shyness and anxiety in the moment, and how to change belief systems and rules over time. A heavy emphasis is placed on action and behaviour.

What is the process?

Step One

This is often the hardest step to take. We will speak for 30 minutes over Zoom or Skype where I will listen to your issues and then present you with a range of options, from working with me to seeking help elsewhere. You will get support, guidance and feel more confident about what next steps you need to take, either with me or not, and get a chance to question me thoroughly about how we would work together.

If we agree to work together the sessions begin and take place over an agreed schedule - usually once a week. All my packages involve intense early work, with exercises, techniques and assignments given for you to complete between sessions. The focus is to get you out and doing things as early as possible, so much of the early work is geared towards this.

The point of working with me is to overcome your shyness and social anxiety for good, and to not have to rely on someone or something else for your sense of self-confidence. A week break in the middle of a package gives us a chance to test how you will be once sessions have ended, and allow us to really tailor the final sessions to ensure success after the package ends.

After the break we continue with the therapy and coaching as before, with added focus on the problem areas, and ensure you have new routines, behaviours and support systems to ensure changes are maintained and progress is sustained in the future.

The support doesn't end when the sessions end. As standard, I follow up with all my clients at the one month and three month periods to ensure progress is being maintained. This is done via 30 minute calls and gives us a chance to further fine tune and give you even more support.
